People often resist switching to a healthy diet, because they mistakenly believe that it is difficult, and most importantly, it is not tasty. However, a person who eats correctly knows not only the taste of food, but also the taste of life: after all, it’s healthy, beautiful and fresh.
But really, eating properly is not difficult. In order not to be unfounded, here are six main and at the same time simple rules for a healthy diet.
- The first and most important rule: no strict restrictions, such as completely avoiding sugar or trans fats. Even if you follow your dietary plan perfectly and eat on schedule, at some point you will enter a plateau phase. It is often encountered by those who are actively losing weight – at a certain moment, the weight stops at the same numbers. This is due to the fact that the body gets used to a certain set of foods, and the body no longer loses weight. In such cases, in order to bring the body to life, it must be shocked. To do this, you can arrange cheating (but not more than once a week!), That is, allow yourself to eat a portion of your favorite dish, even if it is high in calories and contains a lot of carbohydrates or trans fats. If you decide to stick to this approach, “trick” the body correctly – only at lunchtime and in combination with fresh vegetables.
- Drink plenty of water. Everything is simple here: a 50 kg person needs about 1.7 liters of water daily, a 60 kg person needs 2.1 liters, a 70 kg person needs 2.4 liters, and an 80 kg person needs 2.8 liters.
- Try to drink less strong tea and coffee. Caffeine and other tonic substances in these drinks can cause heart palpitations, insomnia, and high blood pressure.
- Eat regularly and in small portions at least 4-5 times a day. The last meal is best to be had 2-3 hours before bedtime and it is desirable that it be carbohydrate-free.
- Avoid eating a lot of fatty foods, including cutting back on animal fats, as they harm the heart and contribute to obesity. Also, try to give up frying, because any dishes will be much tastier and healthier if they are baked or cooked with hot air, for example, in an air oven – it allows you to use a minimum of oil or do without it altogether.
- Eat foods that boost your immune system. It happens that a person begins to over-focus on dietary nutrition and forgets to eat what the body really needs. Foods that boost immunity include fish, garlic, ginger, yogurt, chicken, and flax seeds. Try to add them to your menu as often as possible.
